I became a personal trainer after gaining nearly 50 pounds and finding myself in the worst shape ever.  In 2008, on New Year’s Day, two people in my life died suddenly because of heart attacks.  Concerned about my own health, two weeks later I was enrolled at Pima Community College in the Science & Fitness program.
 
Upon becoming certified in 2009, I began one-on-one training in my home as well as working for nearly three years in an all women's gym in Green Valley.  I also taught group exercise classes and received training from the Arthritis Foundation to teach their exercise program - which I taught until 2015.
 
In my early days as a trainer I attended a lecture at TMC Senior Services entitled "Brain Aerobics" and thus my relationship with TMC was formed; I became a health coach volunteer.  Several years ago I began presenting a workshop at TMC Senior Services entitled "Fit at 50 and Beyond" and showing participants how to put together their own strength, flexibility and cardiovascular program.  I like to think that I've motivated a lot of folks to take that first step towards better health. 

I now have my own Pilates studio near the Tucson Country Club and I teach several classes per day using reformers and chairs.  I am available for private sessions, duos and trios, as well.  I combine my knowledge as a personal trainer with my training as a Pilate’s instructor.  It makes for a challenging - yet enjoyable workout.
